About the Author

Sini Panicker was born and raised in Kochi, Kerala, India. She holds a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Kerala and another master’s degree from American University in Washington, DC. Sini also completed four years of PhD work in organic chemistry. However, before completing her degree, she began her career with the U.S. federal government. She worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture for several years before joining the Department of Justice. As a scientist with the DOJ, her normal topics of engagement are organic chemistry and forensic sciences.

None of these fascinating fields of science and investigation, however, was strong enough to diminish Sini’s love for books and writing. She always wanted to write fiction, but she never made a serious attempt until 2018. The #MeToo Movement led Sini to a heroine named Sita, from India’s oldest and most beloved epic - the Ramayana. Sini credits the voices of #MeToo for inspiring her to give Sita a current, spirited and independent voice.

Sini resides in Northern Virginia.
